Winter Cold and Achy Joints?

As massive cold waves, snow storms, and ice sweep across the US this winter, you may be feeling it in your joints. Symptoms include stiff achy joints, arthritis pain, and inflammation.

You can improve symptoms and pain with these amazing superfoods:

-- Pineapple - fresh is best, skipped the canned

-- Papaya - fresh is best if you can find them

-- Avocado's - readily available all year long

-- Cherries - look for frozen, use them in smoothies

-- Turmeric - try 1/2 tsp. in coffee or smoothie

-- Ginger - add fresh or dried to tea or smoothie

-- Berries - fresh or frozen

-- Broccoli - fresh is best

-- Mushrooms

-- Dark Chocolate

Turmeric Ginger Tea:

1 level tsp. dried turmeric

1/2 tsp. dried ginger (or) 1/4" slice of fresh ginger

1 cups nut milk + 1 cup water

Heat in saucepan

Honey or agave to taste

Avocado Mushroom Toast

Mash 1/2 ripe avocado and spread onto whole wheat toast

Top with sauteed mushrooms

Great for breakfast/lunch/dinner/snack

Berry Smoothie

1 cup frozen berries

1 small piece of fresh ginger or 1/2 tsp. dried ginger

1/2 tsp. dried turmeric

2 cups water or nut milk, or 1/3 can of coconut milk

Optional: 1-2 leaves fresh kale or cabbage

Mix well in blender
